Deleite [Knitting Pattern - PDF]

Designed for Rosy Green Wool's Cheeky Merino Joy Deleite combines a relaxed knitting experience with a feminine, modern look that gives you plenty of freedom. Its unusual shape, with wide low-cut sleeves and a slightly longer back, envelops you comfortably. The long, tight cuffs in different colours and the delicate stripes of the yoke create exciting contrasts to the overall soft flow.

The design in stocking stitch is easy to knit but uses some interesting techniques. It is knitted seamlessly from the top down in rounds. The neckline is worked with a provisional cast-on to create a double rib hem, and then the yoke is shaped with the help of increases. The sleeve stitches are placed on hold while the body is being knitted and are continued later. Short rows create a gentle curve at the front neckline and lower hem of the back.

Size:  XS [S, M1, M2, L1, L2. L3, L4, L5]. The pattern is designed with 32.5 - 40.5 cm (12.75 - 16 in) positive ease at waist circumference.

Yarn: Rosy Green Wool - Cheeky Merino Joy (100% softest organic Merino) 320 m (350 yds) per 100 g in colours Tea (A) (2 [2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3] skeins), Cream (B) (2 [2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3] skeins) and Powder (C) (1 [1, 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2] skeins).

Needles: 3 mm (US 2.5) 40 cm (16 in) circular needle, 3.5 mm (US 4) 100 cm (40 in) circular needle, 3 mm (US 2.5) 40 cm (16 in) circular needle (extra for working the doubled collar). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Crochet hook (for provisional cast-on), smooth waste yarn in a contrasting colour (for provisional cast-on), stitch marker, stitch holders or waste yarn, darning needle.
